I am a beauty products junkie and a trendy troll so I was excited to try the Konjac Charcoal Facial Sponge and Feather and Bone Face Gems. I decided to test them side by side. I used them after a workout in which I had only sunscreen on. I was surprised that the sponge was not soft and pliable as expected but quick rinse under the water softened it right up. I would definitely recommend totally saturating it before use, especially if you have sensitive skin.
The face gems come in a disc form that needs water and some agitation to activate.
I applied both in a circular fashion and then rinsed. While I didn’t use the sponge with product (according to instructions you don’t need to) I felt it did a good job of cleansing my face of sunscreen and sweat. The face gems have a pleasant scent even if it doesn’t look like your common cleanser. I found the face gems did a fine job of cleansing, but I did find it a little drying. I do have sensitive skin but I didn’t experience any problems with irritation. I like the natural ingredients of Feather and Bone and I like the convenience of Konjac. They both performed well and if natural products are important to you I would definitely give these a try.
